Wine Info: what’s in the bottle?

We’ve been working closely with our farmers and winemakers to craft wines we’re proud of, and think you will love. Here’s a taste of what to expect, based on the style of our wines.

Empathy Rosé:
The ideal rosé has flexibility. It provides ample-refreshment and easy-gulping during a day by the pool, but the complexity to be paired perfectly alongside a raw bar or summer salad. Our goal with this wine is to balance the dry, bright acidity, with delicious red fruit flavors.  More details can be found on the current vintage rose.

Empathy White Blend:
A great white blend is like a musical performance. It brings together all the different aspects of music. Bass and Treble. Harmony and Melody. This wine is like a perfect symphony of flavors. The unique characteristics of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, and Viognier all come together to produce a balanced wine that has refreshing acidity, fruit-filled and floral notes, and the weight to stand up to a whole range of foods. Empathy Red Blend:
Cabernet Sauvignon provides the backbone for this wine, with complementary elements from Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Zinfandel. Full-bodied, bold and hearty. This wine will effortlessly transition from late summer barbecues by the grill, to chilly winter nights with a crockpot. More details can be found on the red blend.

We are a direct-to-consumer winery. What does that mean? We harvest the grapes, we make the wine, we send it directly to you. Unlike many other wine club offerings, we aren’t purchasing bulk juice and slapping our logo on the bottle. We also haven’t taken unwanted wines from a warehouse that aren’t selling, and throwing them into a cheapo “wine of the month” club. 

This wine is 100% made by us, made with Empathy. We’ve built relationships with top growers across Northern California in Lodi, Lake County, and Mendocino to find the best grapes for our rose, white, and red wine. Plus, shipping directly from the winery helps us ensure the quality of our product, while keeping the costs down for you.

Our wines are Vegan friendly because we don’t use any animal byproducts in the fining process. We are just not Vegan certified on our label.

We’re proud to partner with Growers who put such a priority on sustainability efforts, farming their vineyards with generations of grape growing in mind. We aren’t organically certified, but we strive to work with Growers who treat their grapes with care.

All wines contain some amount of sulfites because it’s a natural byproduct of fermentation. The amount of sulfites in our wine is well below the maximum and is just enough to make sure that our wine gets to you safely.

Order Tracking, Shipping Info, and Other Details

We ship to the majority of US states. We love all the states and territories - but unfortunately we’re currently unable to ship to Alabama, Alaska*, Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and Utah.

*Due to changing regulations in Alaska, we are unable to ship directly to addresses in Alaska starting January 1, 2024. Once we are able to ship again, we will notify those on our mailing list directly.

On June 28, 2022, FedEx will require ID scanning for deliveries in the U.S. which require an adult signature. The ID scanning technology will electronically capture the recipient’s name and automate age verification. This new process eliminates the need for manual data entry of recipient information and improves the accuracy of recipient information.

When a recipient’s ID is scanned, the scanning technology will:

- Capture the recipient’s name associated with the ID and auto-populate the first initial and last name.
- Confirm the recipient is 21 years or older.

The software does not record any other personal data (e.g., driver's license number, phone number(s), birthdate, home address, etc.). However, capturing the recipient’s first initial and last name is part of the existing proof of delivery process for all signature deliveries and will be retained only as long as necessary.

We have flat rate shipping of $15 on all 3 bottle and 6 bottle orders. Shipping is on us when you order 12 bottles.

Shipping times typically range from 2-5 business days.

Please note, we do not ship orders during the summer on Thursday or Friday. All orders placed after 11am PT on Wednesday, will ship the following Monday.

Empathy Wines are mostly only available for shipping direct to you. Our wines will be featured by a select few restaurant partners across the United States. We’re currently only licensed and available to sell to NY restaurants.

Someone 21+ years old must be home to sign for your wine shipment. We super-duper highly recommend having your package sent to a business address for signing, to ensure you get your wine with the first attempted delivery. Amid Covid, our preferred carriers have adjusted their protocol for your safety and provide contactless delivery. In other words, you’ll temporarily no longer be required to sign.

Yes, we can ship to business addresses. In fact, it’s the most reliable way to receive your wine! We are unable to deliver to PO Box addresses. All deliveries require a signature by someone 21+ years old. 

Our preferred carrier of choice is FedEx. If you won’t be home or are unable to sign for the package for some reason, FedEx’s Hold At Location services allow you to arrange for pickup at one of their nearby partner locations, such as FedEx Stores or Walgreens, on your terms.

Don’t fret! After the 3-attempts the package will be held in the area for 10-days pending action, before it is returned to our facility. Someone 21+ needs to sign for the package. If you are unavailable, you can log on to or call 1800GoFedEx (say 'hold package') for pickup locations near you. Please note that a valid form of ID is required upon pickup. Once held, most locations require pickup within 5 business days (one calendar week) before it is sent back to us.

If you do need to ‘redirect’ the package to another location, such as a business address, where someone 21+ will be available to sign for the package, please reach out to ** Packages cannot be redirected between states**

While we are unable to split a single order, you can update your shipping address at any time in your Account Settings.

We put the utmost care into packaging up and shipping your wines, but accidents happen from time to time, and there’s no use in crying over spilled wine. Please contact us if your package has a damaged or missing bottle and we’ll coordinate replacing it.

We hope you adore our wines! It’s a labor of love to source grapes and produce blends with this level of care and complexity, at such an approachable price point. Billing Info: How do I pay for the goods?

We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Diner's Club credit and debit cards; as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Meta Pay, options. We also offer ShopPay to make saving your card and shipping information fast and easy.

Club Empathy members can attach a preferred credit or debit card to their account anytime. Your payment options can be managed when logged into as a member.

Payments for subscriptions are processed in three equal installments. The first payment is processed upon purchase. We will process each subsequent charge directly before shipping your next wine package. 

Yes. While shipping is always included, sales tax varies by state. Your total will reflect the sales tax applied to your shipping area during checkout.

Gift Cards & Gift Notes
