APPLE CIDER DONUTS

Serves 6-12

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup apple cider


DIRECTIONS

  1. In a medium bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg and whisk to combine. Set aside.
  2. Mix butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until uniform.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
  4. Add the vanilla extract.
  5. Add the flour mixture and mix on low speed until incorporated.
  6. Add apple cider while mixing.
  7. Pour batter into donut pans but do not fill all the way. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Rotate halfway through baking.
  8. For a cinnamon sugar glaze, save some granulated sugar, cinnamon to combine with about half a cup of butter in the microwave.
